Value Network

Clayton Christensen once argued that every company lives inside a hidden bubble made of its current customers and past choices. This bubble completely changes how a business looks at the world. If a new invention does not fit nicely into their daily routine, the managers will simply ignore it. This is why a fresh piece of technology can look like a massive breakthrough to a tiny startup, while a giant corporation looks at the exact same thing and thinks it is completely worthless. They are playing different games. Massive companies rarely fail because they are lazy. They fail because their existing environment makes them blind to the future.
