Confirmation Bias
We naturally love information that proves us right and ignore anything that proves us wrong. This bad habit is called confirmation bias. Once you fall in love with an idea, your brain starts actively protecting it from the truth. If you build products, this means you will only listen to good customer feedback and ignore the warning signs. You end up blind. To fix this, you must force some friction into your thinking. Whenever you feel sure about a result, pause and look for alternative explanations. Have your team actively try to find flaws in your logic. You need to keep your mind open for real insights instead of using it just to congratulate yourself.
